International Workshop on Globalising Life World and Transformation of Political Sphere

(December 28-29, 2019)

Institute for Development and Communication, Chandigarh University, Mohali and Punjabi University, Patiala in association with Hiroshima University, Hiroshima, Japan are organising an International Workshop on "Globalizing Life World and Transformation of Political Sphere."

The decentralised political tendencies as observed in many States in India represented real popular democratic development close to their own living sphere, which is increasingly being respected at the centre with the coalition government as a regular phenomenon. However, if the present situation of rise of state politics in India should be understood in the context of globalist exploitation of our life world, and, therefore, if the people cannot feel secured within the traditional nation-state framework, it must be seen not as a situation, but as a process so that we have to be prepared to see something more to come.

Apparently globalist pressures affect various elements of the people's behaviour and, in order to understand the nature of the change in the political society, we have to know how the expectation and/or the vision of the people are transformed and how much the political and administrative institutions can or cannot respond to that transformation.
